William Edwill Trail, age 78 of Monroe, GA, passed away on December 5, 2019. He was born on July 18, 1941, in Manchester, TN to the late William E. Trail and the late Sara Jane McElroy Trail. He was preceded in death by his three sisters; Jean Trail Brandon, Martha Lou Seville and Sara Jane Priest.

Surviving members of his family are wife, Lynda Trail of Monroe; children, Camie and Chad McGaughey of Monroe; Pamela and Stephen Baynham of Monroe; Jason and Tara Phelps of Monroe; and Mark and Susie Phelps of Monroe. Grandchildren, Emily Baynham, Cole McGaughey, Katelyn Phelps, Parker McGaughey, Colin Phelps, Maggie McGaughey, Molly Phelps, Catherine Phelps, and Mack Phelps.

Known to most as Coach Trail, he was a teacher and a coach for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved football. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, and treasured his family and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Monroe with the Rev. Todd Ware officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Westlawn Cemetery.
