Betty Ruth Stephens Eberhardt, age 86 of Loganville, GA, formerly of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Mrs. Eberhardt retired early from Southern Railway and afterwards worked as a secretary at Our Shepherd’s Church. Mrs. Eberhardt was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and later Christ Fellowship Church. “Mama Betty” as she was called later on, was a holy spirit-filled Christian and had the gift of praying for others. She always had a smile on her face, with a sweet spirit and love in her heart. She was greatly loved by her family and those who knew her, and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed music and gardening, sewing, crocheting and a variety of arts and crafts.
Mrs. Eberhardt was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Eberhardt, her sister, Imogene McNeely of Riverdale, and her granddaughter, Angela Secrest. She is survived by her children: Debbie & Mike Shaw of Stockbridge; Darlene & Pat Partain of Oxford; Lewis & Jenny Eberhardt of Bold Springs; Steve Eberhardt of Atlanta; Sisters: Barbara Bray and Lynda Collins of Atlanta; Grandchildren: Danny & Tamae Partain of Marietta; Cathy & Rob Savage of McDonough; Wayne & Ashley Partain of Conyers; Ben & Kindrea Eberhardt of Griffin; Great Grandchildren: Danielle Secrest of McDonough; Connor & Chase Savage of McDonough; Scarlett Partain of Marietta; Eli, Tucker, & Jackson Eberhardt of Griffin; and Lily Christine Partain who is due in October. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346. A Graveside Service was held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville. Chaplain Doris Durham officiated. The family received friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052. 770-466-1544.
