Obituary: Steven Alan Sawyer, 54, of Monroe

Steven Alan Sawyer also known as PaPa, 54, of Monroe Georgia, passed away 11/16/2020, at home peacefully in his sleep. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Steven was born in Snellville, Ga on 1/20/1966. He graduated from Brookwood High School. After he graduated he went on to work at Gwinnett Technical College for over 25 years. Nothing made him happier than being a devoted Papa, Father, and Brother. He had a passion for southern history and being in the woods or by a pond. He was the best storyteller, and his laugh was contagious—and hearing it was always good for the soul.

Steven is survived by his daughter Navada Sawyer, three grandchildren Jonathan McDougal, Sawyer Green, and Jaxon Green. His son-in-law Dylan Green, as well as his nephews and niece, Jack Sawyer, John Sawyer, and Alexandra Sawyer, as well as his sister-in-law Mitzi Wayne Sawyer, and extended family: brother, Walt Fortier and nieces including Rachel White. Steven is preceded in death by his father Richard Jackson Sawyer Sr. His mother Dorothy Sawyer and both brothers Richard Jackson Sawyer and Reg Sawyer.
