Monroe, Ga. (Dec. 2, 2019) – The holiday season is upon us, and for many, the holidays are a way to honor and remember loved ones and friends, as well as celebrate the season.
To add to the holiday celebrations, Piedmont Walton Hospital invites the community to its third annual Tree Lighting event, which will take place on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby.
The event will include photos with Santa Claus, holiday treats, a special musical performance from Walker Park Elementary School Chorus, and a guest speaker who will light the hospital’s Christmas tree during the event.
“Our annual tree lighting ceremony marks the beginning of the holiday season, and we hope that it serves as a great holiday tradition for our community members who attend,” said Heather Boyce, community relations manager for Piedmont Walton. “We’re very happy to partner with Walker Park Elementary to host this event.”
This year’s guest speaker will be a past patient and his family, who will share their experience at Piedmont Walton with those in attendance. The family will then be the ones to light Piedmont Walton’s Christmas tree for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy for the remainder of the holiday season.
“It’s the season of giving, and we want to show our thanks to the community,” Boyce said. “We hope everyone joins us for this tree lighting event to help us kick off our holidays.”
