Pilot Park in Monroe to close for upgrade and new playground equipment

Pilot Park in Monroe will be closed beginning Tuesday, July 28 for construction! The park will undergo a full rehabilitation that is expected to take about 4 – 6 weeks, depending on the weather. Following that will be an appropriate time for the new landscaping to take root.

Included in the rehabilitation project is landscaping, extended walkways, irrigation, benches, trash receptacles, fencing along with new playground equipment. According to city officials, the new playground equipment will be suitable for children of all ages and will include different education stations around the park adjacent to new walkways. All equipment is ADA compliant and will be suitable for entertainment as well as education of all children.

Below are conceptual plans giving a preview of what the new equipment will look like. Pilot Park is located at the corner of Church Street and High School Lane.
