Runoff for Social Circle City Council, incumbents out in School Board

District 1 on the Social Circle City Council will be decided in the Dec. 5 Runoff with candidates Tim Haney and Traysa Price facing off against each other. Each received 98 votes, giving them a 44.95 percent tie. Adolphus Gaither received 22 votes, the remaining 10 percent. Councilman David Keener was elected unopposed.

In the school board races, no incumbent held onto a seat with District 2 Incumbent Jamie Peterson losing to Rico Jackson who got 73 votes earning him 70 percent of the vote. District 4 Incumbent Charlie Akin lost to Sabrina Flint who managed to win by 3 votes with 80 to Akin’s 77 votes, earning her 50.96 percent to his 49.04 percent.

In District 1, Tonia Lumpkin was able to make the 50 percent plus one margin, earning 50.69 percent of the vote. Jessica Hutchison came in a close second with 93 votes giving her 42.86 percent of the vote. Kimberley Donaldson got 4.15 percent with 9 votes and Cassie Jones got 2.3 percent of the vote with 5 votes.

John Callihan was elected School Board Chairman unopposed.
