When Lendy Burdett Bolton, of Loganville, was nominated for Mother of the Year this Mother’s Day by her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sealock, everybody was aware that she’d had a tough couple of years, and still had quite a battle ahead of her. But she was a worthy winner as she had been a mother to so many over the years. She also was strong, had taken on multiple sclerosis, and this year alone battled stage 3 breast cancer and no less than three heart attacks and a stroke. We were happy to be able to let her know how valued she was to her family and the community. She had been “mother” to so many, including the elderly and the homeless.
But sadly, this last battle was just too much for her. She was hospitalized just after Mother’s Day and, on June 22, she passed away. Her service will be at noon this Saturday, but since her rapid health digression left little time to prepare for final expenses, a GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for her cremation and to have her laid to rest with her parents and brothers. Anyone who knew her and would like to contribute, can do so through the GoFundMe page.
