A Snellville woman was killed Thursday when a large-tree fell across the roadway as she was walking her dog in the neighborhood.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services report that firefighters and police responded to the scene at about 11:16 a.m. on Sept. 17, 2020.
“The incident occurred on Capot Court, SW in unincorporated Snellville. The woman was pinned by the tree and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The dog was injured during the incident and was turned over to an Animal Welfare officer at the scene for further veterinary care,” Capt. Tommy Rutledge, public information officer for GCFES reported in a press release. “The woman’s husband was not home at the time and was contacted by police.”
The woman’s body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Her name has not been released by fire officials at this time due to to Federal Patient Privacy Laws known as HIPAA.
