At 11 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, there will be a groundbreaking for the expansion of theW.H. Stanton Memorial Library in Social Circle.
Social Circle officials say the library will relocate temporarily to the Blue Willow Village beginning in August. This location is considered to be the most convenient for the public during the library construction period.
The library expansion is funded in part by City of Social Circle SPLOST funds, as well as funds from the State of Georgia and The Uncle Remus Library System. The Georgia State Assembly approved funds that will allow the W. H. Stanton Memorial Library expansion project to move forward. The City’s Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds from 2012-2018 totaling $500,000, along with the approved state funding, have made this project possible.
