The City of Loganville to discuss Rock Road/Lee Byrd realignment at City Council meeting Monday

The Loganville City Council will have its August City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020 in Council Chambers at Loganville City Hall. Up for discussion is a $1.485 million road project to realign Rock Road and Lee Byrd Road. The funds would be appropriated from the 2019 Special Local Option Sales Tax.

The realignment project would impact Rock Road from Bay Creek Road to SR 81/WinderHwy. It would:

  • Realign entirety of Rock Road to terminate at intersection of Winder Hwy and Lee Byrd Road (see concept exhibit)
  • 12’ travel lanes, 2’ curb and gutter, on both sides of proposed road, 2’ grass strip and 5’ sidewalk on one side of proposed road
  • 1100 linear feet of new alignment roadway
  • Realign Lee Byrd Road at the intersection with SR 81 to a more desirable skew angle asa safety improvement
