Traffic shift on West Winder Bypass project in Winder begins in the morning

Winder, Ga.,-Tomorrow morning construction partners with the Georgia DOT will shift traffic over to the northbound lanes on State Route 124.

Traffic will shift between Barrow Park Drive and Huntington Trace at 9 a.m. This will allow the construction of the southbound lanes. 

The West Winder Bypass project realigns SR 211 over SR 8 and the railroad in Winder onto the existing Patrick Mill Road. The construction process will occur in three phases. This project was awarded to E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. in August 2018 for approximately $59 million
