Update: 17-year-old from Snellville arrested in connection with murder on Donald Road

Update #2: The Gwinnett County Police Department announced it has arrested James Robertson Jr. 17, of Snellville, in relation to this homicide. He has been charged with aggravated assault and felony murder. This homicide is still under investigation. GCPD reports that at this time, it is believed that the victim was familiar with Robertson and the alleged motive for the homicide is robbery related.

Gwinnett County Police Department report that the victim found shot in the middle of the road in the Snellville area of Gwinnett County on Tuesday has been identified as De’Lano Plummer, 23, of Snellville.

Initial Story

Gwinnett County Police are asking for information regarding a shooting death on Feb. 4, 2020, that was discovered when the body was found lying in the middle of the roadway in the unincorporated Snellville area of Gwinnett County.

GCPD report that just after 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, officers from GCPD responded to a person lying in the middle of the roadway at Hightower Trail and Donald Road.  A passenger thought the male had either been hit by a vehicle or was injured. Officers arrived to find a deceased male lying in the roadway with at least one gunshot wound. A crime scene was set up and the Homicide Unit called in.

Detectives are speaking with residents and attempting to locate witnesses and urging anyone with information to contact the police department or crime stoppers. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
