Update: 2 arrested in case of teen robbed in Snellville area Publix bathroom

Update #1, 12/27/2019:  After the initial Media Release was published in this case, the lead detective was able to identify the robbery suspects.

 

Roderick Doral Fountain, 18, of Snellville and Alim Njai Yilla, 18, of Snellville were both arrested on Thursday, December 26, and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.  They have each been charged with one count of Robbery.

Initial story

(Snellville, Georgia)   On Nov., 2019, two males allegedly confronted and trapped a teenager in the bathroom of the Publix located at 3550 Centerville Highway where they robbed him of his iPhone and Apple AirPods. Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the two suspects.

According to a press release from GCPD, the teen victim was using the bathroom at the Publix location when he was confronted by two men that he didn’t know. They allegedly blocked the door and refused to let the teen leave until he gave them his iPhone and Airpods. The two suspects then immediately left the store with the items.

The victim reportedly told officers that one of the males had a tattoo of cursive letters over his left eye.  Both male suspects were captured on video surveillance while they were in the store.
