A Loganville man was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center on Monday morning after being injured in a wreck on Youth Monroe Road, near Highway 81, at about 8:40 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017.
According to Trooper First Class Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol, Jerry Towler, 34, of Loganville, was hit from behind while traveling on Youth Monroe Road in his 1995 Chevy truck. Barton said Towler was slowing to make a right turn into Youth Mobile Home Park when he was struck by a 2005 Ford Explorer, driven by Brandy Griffin, 31, of Monroe. Griffin had two young passengers in the vehicle with her. Neither she nor the children were injured.
“After being struck, the truck went off the shoulder of the road and struck a brick mailbox,” Barton said. “Towler was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with serious, but not life threatening, injuries. Griffin was cited for following too closely.”
