Update:

The Walton County Board of Commissioners denied the rezoning that would have allowed for the building of 72 homes on 96.85 acres at 1990 Mt. Vernon Road. The developer had agreed to extra conditions, but the rezoning was denied anyway with just Commissioner Kirkland Dixon voting in favor of it.

The BOC voted to approve the application for property in the Claude Brewer and Milton Bryan Road area to be annexed into the City of Loganville. The annexation request for property, owned by Ann R. Jones, of Loganville, will now go before the Loganville Planning and Zoning Board before facing a vote by the Loganville City Council. If the annexation and subsequent rezoning and variance are approved by the Loganville City Council, it makes way for a subdivision of 282 homes to be built.

In Other business:

  • The BOC unanimously approved an amendment to Walton County Land Development Ordinance per Errata Sheet dated 2-1-2017 that allows residents to live in recreational vehicles for 12 months in the event of a catastrophe such as house burning down, tornado, etc.
  • April 2018 was proclaimed Child Abuse Prevention Month.
