Update: Body found in Loganville identified as missing Loganville man

Walton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the body located Tuesday in Loganville was that of the Loganville man last seen on July 23, 2017 when he left his home on Cown Road. The last ping on his phone was from the Mt Zion Cemetery and Bay Creek Church Road area in Loganville. WCSO report that the GBI Medical Examiners Office has positively identified the body as Thomas Cosmo Locke, 36 years old, of Loganville. There was no indication of foul play.

Initial Story

Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman confirmed that a decomposing body was discovered this afternoon at a cemetery off Bay Creek Church Road and Shiloh Road in Loganville. Chapman said at this point it is a John Doe, but Walton County Sheriff’s Office is working to recover the body so it can be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for positive identification. Chapman said a preliminary investigation doesn’t indicate any signs of foul play. The body was discovered at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon by somebody walking in the cemetery.
