The two firefighters injured in the wreck on Friday morning have been released from the hospital, according to Batallion Chief Craig League. Georgia State Patrol report that the driver was Artis J. Johnson, 50, of Monroe and the passenger was Michael J. Murray, 21, also of Monroe.Georgia State Patrol report that Engine 12 was responding to a medical call in emergency mode with lights and siren activated when the accident happened.T
“The fire truck was negotiating left-hand turn when the passenger side tires left the roadway. The driver over-corrected, crossing the center line. The driver again over-corrected, traveling back across the roadway. The fire truck then left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and overturned/rolled,” GSP said in the report, adding it then hit a tree casing a total collapse of the rear section of the cab. “Both occupants were transported to a local medical facility to be treated.”

Walton County Fire Rescue Batallion Chief Craig League reports that Engine 12 was involved in a rollover accident this morning, Jan. 11, 2019, while responding to a medical call. Engine 12 is based out of the new fire station located at the Hard Labor Creek Reservoir.
“The accident occurred on Hawkins Academy Road near Social Circle at 8:25 am. Two firefighters were transported by Walton EMS to Piedmont Walton both with moderate injuries. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident,” League said.
A reserve engine has been transferred to the HLC station to temporarily replace Engine 12, League said.
