The Loganville Police Department has issued a BOLO (Be on the lookout) for a single suspect in the two robberies that happened on Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2018, at the Burger King and KFC in the Loganville city limits. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Brandon Hitchcock at LPD, phone 770-466-8087.
Schwartz said the first incident was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night at the Burger King located at 4740 Highway 78 after a customer at the drive-thru called 911 to report an armed robbery in progress.
“Officers arrived within minutes but the suspect was already gone,” said Robbie Schwartz, spokesman for the City of Loganville. “According to the incident report, witnesses reported that a man dressed in all black wearing a black ski cap and black cloth covering his face entered a side door of the restaurant allegedly with a gun in his hand. He demanded access from the employees to both the front and drive-thru registers, emptying their contents into a black backpack before fleeing the restaurant on foot.”
Schwartz said the second robbery was reported at 10 p.m. at KFC, located at 4065 Highway 78.
“Again the suspect ordered the employees to empty the registers. Walton County deputies were first on the scene and when LPD officers arrived, a K9 unit was utilized in an attempt to locate the suspect,” Schwartz said. “The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money and was described as a black male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, approximately 180 pounds with a beard.”
