Update: Minor injuries received in motor vehicle vs motorcycle wreck Thursday

Update

The motorcycle rider who received minor injuries in Thursday night’s wreck, as well as the driver of the other vehicle, received citations. The driver of the vehicle was cited for failing to yield when entering a roadway and the motorcycle rider was cited for driving without a motorcycle license.

“At approximately 1652, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, operated by Kathy Green of Monroe, failed to yield to a southbound motorcycle while attempting to make a left turn out of the Campton Restaurant, just south of Nicholsville Road,” said Georgia State Patrol TFC Sgt. James Buchanan. “The motorcyclist, Mason Knight, of Covington, struck the driver’s side of Green’s vehicle. Knight was transported to Piedmont Walton with non-life-threatening injuries.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office is asking motorists to avoid the area of Hwy. 11 in front of Campton Restaurant due to a two-vehicle accident that has the road closed. One of the vehicles is reported to be a motorcycle.

Walton County first responders report that one person was taken to Piedmont Walton with minor injuries.
