Update: Pedestrian hit by vehicle on Highway 78 in Loganville remains in critical condition

City of Loganville spokesman Robbie Schwartz said the 35-year-old Loganville man who was struck by a pick-up truck last night remains in critical condition this morning. 

Swartz said LPD officers responded to the call at 10:07 p.m. last night and found the man on the westbound curb of Highway 78 near Dairy Queen.

“When they arrived he was breathing but unconscious. He was transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center,” Schwartz said in a statement. “The accident remains an active investigation and LPD officials are not releasing the name of the pedestrian who was struck at this time. Early indications from the investigation are that the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk.”

Schwartz said it is not known at this time if any charges will be filed against the driver of the pick-up truck involved in the accident.

Loganville emergency personnel are on the scene of a pedestrian who was reportedly struck by a pickup truck on Highway 78 near Dairy Queen, according to City of Loganville spokesman Robbie Schwartz.

“The victim is in serious condition and life flight is en route. LPD accident investigation unit will be handling the incident and is expected to impact traffic for some time,” Schwartz said. This report came in at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019.

No further information is expected to be released until the morning.
