Georgia State Patrol confirmed that two young people lost their lives in a wreck on Highway186 and Moina Michael Road near Good Hope on Oct. 31, 2018.
Ashley Allen, 24, of Mansfield, died at the scene of the wreck that happened at about 8:30 a.m. and Chealse Lockhart, 17, of Good Hope succumbed to her injuries after being lifeflighted to Grady Memorial Hospital.
GSP report that the 17-year-old, driving a 2003 Ford Escape, was negotiating a left curve while traveling west on SR 186 when she crossed the yellow line and struck the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Allen head on.
“The impact caused the Sonic to travel off the south shoulder of the roadway where it came to a final uncontrolled rest. The Escape spun counterclockwise and came to final uncontrolled rest in the roadway. Ashley Allen was declared deceased on scene. Lockhart was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to injuries a short time later. No alcohol/drugs are suspected,” GSP report.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the second person involved in this mornings accident at Highway 186 and Moina Michael Road near Good Hope did not survive the injuries.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office is asking everyone to avoid the area on Highway 186 and Moina Michael Road near Good Hope as the investigation into the wreck is still underway. They confirm that one person died and a second has been life-flighted to Grady with critical injuries as a result of the wreck. No names are being released at this time as notification to next of kin has not been completed.
Walton County Fire Rescue reports that units are currently on the scene of a 2 car accident at Hwy 186 and Moina Michael Road near Good Hope. There are critical injuries reported and motorist are warned to expect traffic delays and possible road closure. The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018.
