Update: Unoccupied chicken house in Morgan County destroyed by fire

Walton County Fire Rescue is assisting neighboring Morgan County on a structure fire involving a chicken house on Bostwick-High Shoals Road, just inside Morgan County.
“The chicken house is fully involved and spreading to adjacent buildings,” said WCFR Assistant Fire Chief Craig League said.

Firefighter Jeff Allen with Morgan County Fire Department said the fire was contained to the one chicken house which was an old building that was not occupied. It was a total loss.

Oconee County Fire Department also assisted. Allen saidWalton sent its three 3,000 tenders, while Morgan sent multiple 2000 tenders, and Oconee sent several of its 1600 gallon tankers. The fire was in the High Shoals area, just inside Morgan County in the area where all three counties touch.
