After decisively taking its first two wins of the season, Victory Baptist Football School’s Team is traveling to McDonough to take on People’s Baptist Academy in a non-conference game Friday. The team is coming off a decisive win of 64-0 in a non-conference game against Praise Academy in its first game on Aug. 28 and 20-7 last week against Hearts Academy. Loganville Mayor Rey Martinez addressed the players last week before they took to the field.
In other local play, Loganville, George Walton Academy and Loganville Christian Academy Varsity football teams won their opening games Friday. The Loganville Red Devils and LCA both have a bye week this before returning to play on Sept. 18.
Loganville squeaked out a win in overtime against local rivals Monroe Area 21-20. The Loganville Red Devils are off this week. The team returns to play at home on Sept. 18 against Forsyth Central.
Monroe Area travels to Walnut Grove on Friday, Sept. 11, to take on the Warriors in a non-conference game. Walnut Grove is coming off a loss Friday, going down 39-7 in an away non-conference game in Douglasville against New Manchester.
George Walton Academy won its home game against Social Circle Friday with a score of 35 – 7. The GWA Bulldogs travel to Macon on Friday to take on Stratford Academy. Social Circle has another away game Friday. The team will travel to Lilburn for a non-conference game against Providence Christian Academy.
Loganville Christian was able to hold its own against Providence Christian Academy 20-16 on Friday. The LCA Lions are off this Friday. The team travels to Atlanta on Sept. 18 to take on Holy Innocents’ Episcopal.
