Dr. Elmer Swartzmeyer donated funds for a copy of Fahrenheit 451, a book by Ray Bradbury, to Monroe Area High School’s ninth-grade Literature Class. Each student was given his/her own book to learn how to annotate. As Ray Bradbury reportedly once told Ms. Roberts, “each student will be able to ‘have a conversation with his book.'”
This is not the first time Swartzmeyer has donated to Walton County Public Schools. In fact it is just one of many, earning him the title “Patron of Education” in an article of his support in the 2018 Fall-Winter issue of Walton Living magazine.
