The Central Walton 10U All-stars “Stick Squad” (Monroe, GA) won 1st place this summer and brought home the title to the USSSA AllStar World Series that was played in Gulfport, Miss.
“The team beat the state champions, including the GA All-star state champion – Newton County Royal. Our team went undefeated in the tournament play,” said Ted Braswell, head coach for the team. “These fine student athletes represent the best that local recreational sports has to offer.”
Braswell thanked local business partners, family and friends that helped raise the $10,000 necessary to sent the team to Mississippi over the summer to compete for the title. He and the assistant coaches, Daniel Carr and Brandon Townsend are very proud of the achievement.
