Walton County School District gives the following weekly update on the active cases of COVID-19 since schools have returned to on campus teaching in the new year. This will be updated weekly on a Thursday.
From Callen Moore, spokesperson for WCSD as at noon on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020.
“As of noon today, the Walton County School District has six active COVID-19 cases across the district, including both students and staff. In accordance with the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Administrative Order and Quarantine Guidance, 150 students and five staff members have been quarantined as a result of these six cases. Individuals identified as being within six feet or less for 15 minutes or more beginning two days before the positive person had symptoms or their test sample was taken are required to quarantine for 14 days. These individuals are not considered to be COVID-19 positive. Schools will continue to work with students and teachers as they switch to working remotely during the quarantine period.”
