WCSO Alerts: 2 vehicles stolen and slew of entering auto complaints, firearms stolen

Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

ZONE 1

Suspicious Person: Deputies responded to a residence on Amber Hills Way in Amber Hills subdivision in reference to an individual going door to door for a pest control company. Deputies made contact with the individual and they were advised to register with the Sheriff’s Office before soliciting.

Fraud: Deputies took a report on Dally Road in reference to a telephone scam.

ZONE 2

Fraud: Deputies took a report at a business on Mountain Paran Church Road in reference to an individual cashing a company check. Report was forwarded to Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Hit and Run: Deputies responded to a hit and run accident on Shoal Creek Road and Dry Pond Road. No known injuries reported. The vehicle that left the scene was a dark blue Nissan Versa. Georgia State Patrol worked the scene of the accident.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s unlocked vehicle and taking a firearm. The firearm was placed on the national data base as stolen.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s unlocked vehicle and taking a firearm. The firearm was placed on the national data base as stolen.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s vehicle, unsure if vehicle was locked. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was notified and is looking further into this.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering two of the complainant’s vehicles, unsure if vehicles were locked, and taking several items. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was notified and is looking further into this.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s vehicle, unsure if vehicle was locked.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was notified and is looking further into this.

Entering Auto: Deputies responded to a residence on Peyton Drive in the Ridge at Dry Pond subdivision in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s unlocked vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was notified and is looking further into this.

ZONE 5

Stolen Vehicle: Deputies responded to a residence on Highway 11 in reference to an unknown individual stealing complainant’s dark gray 2013 Ford Fusion. Vehicle was seen heading to Barrow County. After crashing vehicle individual fled scene. Deputies thoroughly checked the area no contact.

Stolen Vehicle: Deputies took a walk in report at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an unknown individual taking complainant’s white 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. Vehicle was placed on the national database as stolen.

Extra Patrol: Extra patrol was requested in the area of Highway 11 in reference to the recent entering autos in the area.

ZONE 6

Fraud: Deputies took a report at a business on Garmon Park Court in reference to an unknown individual taking money out of complainant’s accounts.

Vehicle Accident: Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 78. No known injuries reported. Walton County Sheriff’s Office worked the scene of the accident.

ZONE 7

Arrest: Jeffery Jones was arrested on Butterfly Lane for Driving Under the Influence following a single vehicle accident.

Recovered Property: Deputies responded to a residence on Kent Rock Road in reference to a camper found on location. Camper was identified as stolen, owner could not be contacted. Camper towed off property.

There has been a rash of Entering Autos recently. Please remove valuable items, and lock your vehicle at night!
