The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for Monday, Feb. 19, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Arrest- Jarrett Caudell was arrested in the area of Snows Mill Road near the Oconee County Line for Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, and Failure to Maintain Lane following a traffic stop.
Arrest- Brooklyn Hicks was arrested at a residence on Perston Road for an outstanding Battery warrant out of Monroe Police Department.
Hit and Run- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 78 and Snip Dillard Road in reference to a report of an unknown motorist striking a stop sign in the area and fleeing around 4:00pm. Deputies made contact with the motorist and they were cited for Duty to Stop Upon Striking a Fixed Object. No injuries reported. Walton County Sheriff’s Office worked the scene of the incident.
Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Mount Carmel Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual making purchases using their bank information.
Arrest- Matthew Shipman and Natalie Johnston were arrested in the area of Highway 11 near Pike Electric following a traffic stop.
Matthew Shipman was arrested for Obstruction, Giving False Information to an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Driving While License Suspended, and outstanding warrant out of Barrow, Clarke and Jackson Counties.
Natalie Johnston was arrested for Obstruction, Giving False Information to an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County.
Arrest- Justin Nixon was arrested at a residence on North Sharon Church Road for Battery following a dispute.
