WCSO Alerts: Burglary complaint and slew of entering autos

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Tuesday, April 25 – Thursday, April 26, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

ZONE 5

HIT & RUN- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 81 and June Ivey Road in reference to a two vehicle hit and run accident with no injuries.

ARREST- Michael Butler was arrested in the area Highway 11 for Obstruction, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop for a suspicious vehicle.

ZONE 6

THEFT- Deputies took a report at A&A Mini Storage in the area of Highway 81 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their storage unit and took several items sometime between 2:00pm on Monday, April 23 and 6:45pm on Tuesday, April 24.

ZONE 7

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE- Deputies responded to the area of Cook Road in reference to an unknown vehicle driving slow in the area and turning off their headlights and parking. Deputies made contact with the juvenile motorist. The motorist was issued a warning for Loitering and Prowling and turned over to their parents.

ZONE 1

ARREST- Dawson Queen was arrested in the area of Hightower Ridge Road for an outstanding warrant out of Clarke County following a traffic stop.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON- Deputies responded to the area of Sterling Water Court in reference to a complaint of unknown individual putting some kind of paper/flyer in the mailboxes in the area around 4:30pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

ARREST- James Wilson Jr. was arrested at H D Atha Shell Gas Station in the area of H D Atha Road for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects following being found on location after hours.

ZONE 4

TRESPASSING- Deputies responded to the area of Ike Stone Road in reference to a complainant reporting they observed an unknown individual on their property around 6:50am. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

ARREST- Louis Studdard was arrested at Campton Restaurant in the area of Highway 11 for Disorderly Conduct and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County after being found on location after hours.

ZONE 5

ARREST- Jacob Chastain was arrested in the area of Double Springs Road for Obstruction and Possession of Methamphetamine following a suspicious person call.

ARREST- Jospeh Barrett was arrested by Barrow County deputies for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop in their jurisdiction. He was transported to the county line where he was taken into custody by Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies.

ENTERING AUTO- Deputies took a report at Southern Gymnastics in the area of Highway 78 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual breaking complainant’s window in their vehicle and taking items out of their vehicle sometime between 7:15pm and 7:45pm. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

ZONE 6

ENTERING AUTO- Deputies took a report at Jerry’s Corner Store in the area of Highway 20 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their unlocked vehicle and took several items around 3:30pm.

ARREST- Christopher Moore was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Youth Monroe Road for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

BURGLARY- Deputies took a report at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in the area of Leone Avenue in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual making forced entry into a building on location and taking several items and damaging several other items on location sometime between 12:30pm on Friday, April 20 and 8:00am Tuesday, April 24. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident.

Thursday, April 26, 2018.

ZONE 3

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Mahlon Smith Road in reference to complainant reporting an individual contacted them via telephone claiming to damage complainant’s property.

ZONE 4

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Bradley Gin Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their unlocked vehicle and took their firearm and box of ammo sometime between 1:00am and 7:00am. Firearm was placed on the national database as stolen.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Thomas Millis was arrested in the area of Wagon Trail for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County following a suspicious person report.
