The Walton County Sheriff’s office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Monday, June 15 – Thursday, June 18, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Monday, June 15, 2020
Arrest- A 30-year-old Winder man was arrested in the area of Highway 78 near LKQ for Speeding, an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County, and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.
Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Cannon Farm Road in reference to the Walton County Water Department reporting an unknown individual had hooked up a water hose to the main water line and were taking water for an unknown amount of time. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division investigating the incident.
Burglary- Deputies took a report at a residence on Hancock Road in reference to complainant reporting an individual gained forced entry into a shed outside the residence and took several items sometime between 4:00 am and 10:30 am. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division investigating the incident.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Highway 278 and David Academy Road in reference to an ongoing issue with dump trucks speeding in the area throughout the day.
Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Marion Ivey Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual in a white in color panel van stopping in the area being suspicious around 3:40 pm, but fled the area prior to deputies arrival. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact. Extra patrol in reference to the incident.
Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Roscoe Davis Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual contacted the complainant via telephone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration requesting the complainant’s personal information.
Entering Auto- While patrolling Hidden Creek Subdivision deputies noticed two vehicles with their doors opened around 2:20 am. Deputies made contact with the owner who reported nothing appeared to be missing.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Lance Court in reference to an ongoing issue with truck haulers parking in the roadway causing damage to the roadway.
Arrest- A 24-year-old Monroe resident was arrested at a residence on Mount Vernon Road for outstanding Theft by Receiving warrant and an outstanding Criminal Use of Article with Altered ID warrant out of Walton County.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol as requested in the area of Alcovy Bluff Subdivision in reference to an ongoing issue with speeding dump trucks in the area throughout the day time hours.
