WCSO Alerts: Dodge charger stolen and recovered, scams, thefts, gunshots and arrests

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reports the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts between Friday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Sept. 14, 2018

ZONE 3

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Navajo Trail in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual claiming to be with a Government Empowerment Program scammed them out of $3,900.00 through the purchasing of App Store Gift Cards.

ZONE 4

Stolen Vehicle- Deputies took a report at a residence on Parker Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual stole their black in color Dodge Charger sometime between 9:50pm and 10:10pm. There was also a firearm in the vehicle at the time of theft. Vehicle was placed on National Database as stolen.

ZONE 6

Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of Highway 78 near Grahams Auto Sales for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Jared Hardin was arrested in the area of Highway 20 and Miller Bottom Road near Jerry’s Corner Store for Possession of Marijuana Oil with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana Oil, and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Greyson Edwards was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for an outstanding warrant out of Richmond County following a traffic stop.

Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018

ZONE 2

Arrest- Steven Jones and Darron Stanford were arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Whitney Road for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

ZONE 3

Arrest- Tymani Watkins was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Jim Daws Road for Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Possession of Prescription Drugs Not in the Original Container following a traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 11 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual stolen complainants muscadines from their vineyard sometime between Wednesday, September 12th and Thursday, September 13thExtra patrol requested in reference to the incident. 

ZONE 5

Arrest- Jeffrey Askew was arrested at a residence on Stock Gap Road for Battery and Criminal Damage to Property following a dispute.

Arrest- John Cashner was arrested in the area of New Hope Church Road and Lee Peters Road for Disorderly Conduct after a brief foot chase following a Suspicious Person call.

Arrest- George Richardson was arrested in the area of Bold Springs Road and Stock Gap Road for Driving While Unlicensed following a traffic stop.

ZONE 6

Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of Highway 20 for Driving While License Suspended following a disabled vehicle call.

ZONE 7

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Nunnally Trace in reference to complainant reporting an ongoing issue with a unknown vehicle parking in the complainants driveway around 3:00AM.

Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018

ZONE 1

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Liberty Hill Church Road in reference to a complainant of an unknown motorist in a tan/copper in color pick-up truck with a green tailgate shooting a firearm out the window around 6:20PM. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle.

ZONE 3

Arrest- Donald Montgomery Jr. Was arrested at a residence on Magnolia Ridge Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.

ZONE 4

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- Monroe Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle in the area of Parker Drive at Coker Field. The vehicle was a black in color Dodge Charger that was reported stolen out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Justin Mills was arrested by Barrow County following a traffic stop for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Barrow County Deputies turned Justin Mills over to Walton County Deputies at the county line.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Tonya Martin was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Brookview Drive for Possession of Schedule IV Drugs, Possession of Prescription Drugs Not in Original Container, and a Headlight Violation following a traffic stop.

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Cannon Farm Road in reference to an unknown motorist in a black in color SUV shooting a firearm out the window around 6:20PM. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle.
