WCSO Alerts: DUI, Fraud, Scams and damage to property

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Monday, Oct. 22 – Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Monday, October 22, 2018

ZONE 5

Arrest- Stewart McDevitt was arrested at a residence on Bo Boss Road for Driving Under the Influence following a traffic stop.

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Mystic Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took funds out of the complainant’s account.

ZONE 6

Arrest- Charles Pinkerman was arrested at a residence on Oakwood Drive for Reckless Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree following a damage to property report.

Arrest- Kenneth Herren was arrested at a convenience store in the area of Highway 20 for an outstanding warrant out of Gwinnett County after being found on location after hours.

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on North Sharon Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual claiming to be with McAfee Computer Software obtained the complainants bank information.

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

ZONE 3

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Anna Marie Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual damaged their window by what appeared to be a pellet gun sometime between 5:00 pm on October 11th and 12:00 pm October 23rd.

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Queens Cemetery Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual contacted the complainant via telephone claiming to be the Walton County Sheriff’s Office stating the complainant owed money and obtain the complainant’s bank information.

ZONE 6

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 20 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual made fraudulent charges using the complainant’s checking account.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a business on Highway 78 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took a tag from one of the vehicles on location. Tag was placed on the national database as stolen.
