The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Thursday, May 25, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Crystal Brook Way in Crystal Brook Subdivision in reference to an unknown individual taking a package from complainant’s residence.
Animal Complainant- Deputies responded to a residence on Peter Cemetery Road in reference to an aggressive canine. Deputies made contact with the canine owner and later Walton County Animal Control took over the situation.
Theft- Deputies took a report at a convenient store on Highway 81 in reference to an unknown individual taking complainant’s wallet.
Arrest- Tommy Harrison was arrested at a residence on Hickory Point Road for Possession of a Weapon on School Property, Disruption of Public School, Driving Under the Influence, Expired Tag and No Proof of Insurance following an incident that occurred at an Elementary School.
Stalking- Deputies took a report at a residence on Saddlebrook Drive in reference to an unknown motorist in a red Ford truck following them on different occasions.
Arrest- Joseph Harmon was arrested at a residence on Double Springs Church Road for Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Stop at an Accident with Damages and Failure to Yield following a hit and run accident that occurred on Highway 78 and Troy Smith Road. No life threatening injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Blue Springs Drive in reference to an ongoing issue with speeding vehicles in the early morning hours.
Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 81 and Wagon Trail Road. No injuries. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.
Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to Lakeside Boulevard in reference to 80-100 juveniles at the pool in the subdivision. Deputies made contact with the juveniles and they returned to a residence in the area.
Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Atha Circle in reference to complainant being contacted via telephone by an unknown individual claiming to be with the IRS advising complainant would be arrested if action was not taken
