WCSO Alerts: DUIs, entering autos, and slew of traffic stops resulting in arrests

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 to Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019

ZONE 2

Arrest- Jessica Long was arrested at a residence on Hawkins Academy Road for two counts of Cruelty to Children in the First Degree.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Avery Parks was arrested in the area of Highway 11 for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Tiffany Vrooman was arrested was arrested in the area of Highway 11 for an outstanding Animal Abandonment warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Douglas Parker was arrested in the area of Highway 11 for an outstanding warrant out of Social Circle Police Department following a traffic stop.

ZONE 5

Citation- One individual was cited at a residence on South Cross Lane for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Keith Ross was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and Amber Way for Driving Under the Influence, Violation of a Limited Permit, and Failure to Maintain Lane following a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.

Friday, Feb. 1, 2019

ZONE 4

Arrest- Jeffery Baxter was arrested in the area of Apalachee Trail for an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County following a suspicious vehicle call.

Arrest- Jonathan Sorrells was arrested on the area of Highway 78 and Edmondson Road for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Improper Turn/Failure to obey Traffic Laws following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Mark Doak was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Michael Road for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Maintain Lane following a traffic stop.

ZONE 6

Arrest- Michael Wilson was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Claude Brewer Road for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Cedar Oak Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entering complainants unlocked vehicle and taking a firearm sometime between 6 pm January 30th and 8 am February 1st. Firearm placed on the national database as stolen.

Arrest- Kailey Green was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Youth Monroe Road for Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop.
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019

ZONE 3

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Unisia at the Monroe City Limits. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Arrest and Citations in Reference to Safety Check:

  • Charles Buckner was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce
  • Sierra Hall was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce
  • Lamarkito Marion was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and No Insurance

Citation- One motorist was cited in the area of Snows Mill Road near Back to the Basics for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Ricky Thompson was arrested at a residence on Clearwater Way for Disorderly Conduct and Giving False Information to an Officer following a dispute.

ZONE 6

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Broadnax Mill Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their unlocked vehicle and took several items sometime between 1 pm Jan. 29th and 12:40 pm Feb. 2nd.

Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019

ZONE 3

Arrest- Lopheuma Hewens was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Cheek Road for Obstruction, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Giving False Information to an Officer, Open Container, and Violation of Headlight Requirements following a traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Citation- One individual was cited at a church on Mount Vernon Road for Disorderly Conduct after being found on location around 9 pm.

ZONE 5

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 11 and Bold Springs Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.

Arrest in Reference to Safety Check:

  • Timothy Lee was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule I Drugs (THC Oil), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
