WCSO Alerts: Gun pointed during road rage incident, entering auto and burglary arrests

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Crime Awareness Alerts for the period Friday, Jan. 26, to Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Friday, Jan. 26, 2018

ZONE 4

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Macedonia Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown motorist damaged their mailbox sometime between 9:00am and 1:20pm.

ZONE 5

Road Rage- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 11 and Mountain Creek Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown motorist in a silver Ford Focus passenger vehicle riding their bumper and point a gun at them and “shooting them a bird”. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Forrest Falls Drive in Forrest Falls Subdivision in reference to complainant reporting they received a check in the mail in their name requesting they cash the check and send money orders to various persons. Letter advised the complainant had won a chance to be a secret shopper.

ZONE 7

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highway 81 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual made unauthorized transactions on their debit card.

Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018

ZONE 1

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Hightower Trail in reference complainant reporting an unknown individual damaging their mailbox post.

ZONE 5

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Lee Byrd Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from the residence between 3:00pm on Jan. 18 and 9:00am on Jan. 19, 2018.

Burglary- Deputies took a report at a residence on Shannon Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their residence and took several items sometime between 9:00am and 10:00pm.

Arrest- Timothy Reece was arrested by Snellville Police Department for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

ZONE 6

Road Rage- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 78 and Garmon Park Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown motorist in a white Toyota passenger vehicle screaming out the window at complainant and weaving in and out of traffic. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle.

Arrest- Regina Anderson, Billy Bonner, and John Hibbert were arrested in the area of Centerhill Church Road for Entering Auto, Burglary in the 2ndDegree, and two counts of Felony Burglary following a suspicious vehicle call.

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Mill Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entering their vehicle and taking their firearm sometime between 8:00am Jan. 23 and 4:50pm Jan. 27, 2018.

Arrest- Christopher White was arrested in the area of Miller Bottom Road for Public Intoxication following a suspicious person report.

Arrest- Robert Whetzel was arrested at a residence on Logan’s Ridge in Logan’s Bluff Subdivision for Obstruction of an Officer following a suspicious vehicle investigation.

ZONE 7

Citation- One individual was cited at a residence on Stewart Lake Road for Criminal Trespass following a verbal dispute.

Arrest- Robert Varalla was arrested in the area of Highway 81 at the EZ Stop for Driving Under the Influence following being found asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle after hours.

Arrest- William Whitehead was arrested in the area of the Walnut Grove Bypass for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant following a suspicious person call.

 Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018

ZONE 1

Arrest- Derrick Showes was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and H D Atha for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, No Proof of Insurance, Driving While License Suspended, Using License Plate to Conceal the Identity of the Vehicle, and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

ZONE 2

Arrest- Joey Prather was arrested at a residence on Hickory Nut Way in Squirrel Hollow Subdivision for Battery following a dispute.

ZONE 3

Arrest- Crystal Lee was arrested at a residence on Bryson Trial in Tilley Trace Subdivision for an outstanding Deposit Account Fraud warrant out of Walton County.

ZONE 5

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Double Springs Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual damaged their mailbox sometime between 2:30pm and 10:00pm Jan. 27, 2018.

Arrest- Donald Sneed and Alyssa Barbotiko were arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Bold Springs Road for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

ZONE 6

Hit and Run- Deputies responded to the area of Centerhill Church Road and McCullers Road in reference to complainant reporting to have been struck on right passenger side of their vehicle by an unknown motorist in a black SUV passenger vehicle that fled the scene. No known injuries reported. Georgia State Patrol worked the scene of the accident.
