WCSO Alerts: Juvenile complaint for underage drinking when juvenile found asleep in vehicle

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Thursday, March 29, to Sunday, April 1, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Thursday, March 29, 2018

ZONE 1

Citation- One clerk was cited at Oxford Shell Gas Station on Highway 81 for Furnishing Alcohol to Minors following deputies making contact with several individuals underage in possession of alcohol purchased from the business.

ZONE 2

Arrest- Allen Farmer was arrested at a residence on Sweetbriar Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County, an outstanding warrant out of Putnam County, and an outstanding warrant out of Baldwin County. One individual was also cited on scene for Disorderly Conduct for giving false information to officers.

ZONE 3

Suspicisous Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 78 and Cheek Road in reference to an unknown motorist in a silver in color passenger vehicle speeding and driving recklessly honking his horn at several other motorist. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact.

ZONE 4

Damage to Property- Deputies took reports at two different residences on Tommy Dillard Road in reference to complainants reporting an unknown individual damaging their mailboxes sometime during the late afternoon/evening hours on Wednesday, March 28.

ZONE 5

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Waterford Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entering their unlocked vehicle and taking their firearm sometime between Thursday, March 22 and Thursday, March 29. Firearm was placed on the national database as stolen.

Arrest- Emmitt Smith was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Troy Smith Road for Driving Under the Influence, Obstruction, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Habitual Violator following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Atha Circle in reference to an ongoing issue with speeding vehicles in the area starting around 3:00pm and going into the evening hours.

Friday, March 30, 2018

ZONE 1

Arrest- Angel Mendoza-Guevara was arrested in the area of H D Atha Road for Driving While Unlicensed following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Chad Hilliard was arrested at a residence in the area of Cannon Farm Road for two counts of Theft by Taking and Possession of Methamphetamine.

ZONE 2

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Raegan Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual making unauthorized purchases on their credit card.

ZONE 4

Burglary- Deputies took a report at a residence on Gratis Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking an extensive amount of money from their residence. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

ZONE 5

Harassment- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 81 and Bay Creek Church Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown motorist who was acting aggressive was following them into their neighborhood around 9:00pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact.

ZONE 6

Recovered Vehicle- Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle out of Gwinnett County parked in the area of Victoria Park Drive in the early morning hours. The vehicle was turned over to Gwinnett County Deputies.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Claude Brewer Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from their residences sometime between 2:00pm Tuesday, March 20 and 10:30am Friday, March 23.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Matthew Cook was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for an outstanding warrant out of Newton County following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Kyle Leonard was arrested at a residence on Emmett Still Road for Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree following a dispute.

Saturday, March 31, 2018

ZONE 1

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Jersey Walnut Grove Road and Forrester Cemetery Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:

  • Timothy Peacock was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Newton County.
  • Richard Short was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Florida and Giving False Information to Officers.

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Cannon Farm Road throughout the day and night time hours in reference to an ongoing issue with a maroon pick-up truck speeding in the area.

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Pine View Road in reference to a complaint of an unknown individual asleep in their vehicle. Deputies made contact with the juvenile motorist and they were found to be in possession of alcohol under age. A juvenile complainant was filed and they were turned over to their parents.

ZONE 2

Suspicious Activity- Deputies took a report at a residence on Pond Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual moved items from their residence to other parts of their residence. Extra patrol throughout the day and night time hours in reference to the incident.

ZONE 3

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Snows Mill Road and Jacks Creek Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Bethany Estates Court in reference to a complaint of two unknown vehicles parked in the area acting suspicious. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact. Extra patrol requested throughout the day and night time hours in reference to the incident.

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Highway 83 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual rang their doorbell several times and ran. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact.

ZONE 4

Trespassing- Deputies took a report at a residence on Philips Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual(s) entered their camper sometime between 10:00pm on Thursday, March 29 and 8:30am Friday, March 30, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Sunday, April 1, 2018

ZONE 1

Road Rage- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 138 in reference to complainant reporting two unknown motorist on motorcycles riding complainants bumper. Deputies made contact with the individuals on the motorcycles who advised the complainant almost ran them off the road. Situation was mediated.

ZONE 3

Citation- One individual was cited at Cowpen Gas Station in the area of Pannell Road for Criminal Trespass after being found trying to shoplift from the business.

Arrest- Tonya Lyons was arrested by Georgia State Patrol in the area of Highway 78 and Cheek Road for Driving Under the Influence and Open Container following a suspicious vehicle call and traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Joseph Clark was arrested at Hill Haven Memorial Garden in the area of Edmondson Road for Possession of Schedule IV Drugs and Possession of Drugs Not in Original Container following being found on location after hours.

ZONE 5

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Double Springs Road and New Hope Church Raod. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:

  • Montine Phillips was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Harry Holcombe was arrested at a residence on Cannon Farm Road for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass following a dispute.
