WCSO Alerts: Person claiming to be store district manager instructs employee to bring money outside

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Feb. 3 – Feb. 4, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Monday, February 3, 2020

ZONE 1

Arrest- A 26-year-old Gainesville man was arrested at a residence on Michael Etchison Spur for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.

Tuesday, February 4, 2020

ZONE 2

Arrest- A 24-year-old Social Circle man was arrested at a residence on Highway 278 for Battery and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree following a dispute.

ZONE 3

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Chandler Road in reference to complainant reporting they saw an unknown individual on their property in the late evening hours. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

Arrest- A 39-year-old Monroe man was arrested at a residence on Pannell Road for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.

ZONE 7

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to a residence on Kent Rock Road in reference to complainant reporting they saw two unknown individuals outside their residence around midnight. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact with anyone. Nothing appeared to be missing at the time of the report.

Suspicious/Harassing Phone Calls- Deputies took a report at the Dollar General on Highway 81 in reference to an employee reporting an unknown individual called claiming to be the Dollar General District Manager and wanted the employee to bring the stores money outside. Extra patrol in reference to the incident
