WCSO Alerts: Several arrests result from traffic stops

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Friday, June 1, 2018 to Monday, June 4, 2018.

 Friday, June 1, 2018

ZONE 7

Arrest- Ronnie Cook was arrested at a residence on Carter Drive for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.

Saturday, June 2, 2018

ZONE 1

Arrest- Thomas Harris was arrested by Newton County Deputies in their jurisdiction for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop. Newton County Deputies transported him to the county line where he was turned over to Walton County Deputies.

ZONE 3

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on South Broad Street in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking several firearms from the residence sometime between 9:00pm May 30th and 6:30pm June 2nd.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Craig McCulough was arrested in the area of Highway 11 and Nicholsville Road for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Possession of Controlled II Drugs and Possession of Prescription Not in Original Container following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Wayne Criswell was arrested by Winder Police Department in their jurisdiction for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop. Winder Officers transported him to the county line where he was turned over to Walton County Deputies.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Jose Gonzalez was arrested by Snellville Police Department in their jurisdiction for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop. Snellville Officers transported him to the county line where he was turned over to Walton County Deputies.

Sunday, June 3, 2018

ZONE 7

Burglary Attempt- Deputies responded to a church in the area of H D Atha Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual attempting to make forced entry into a building on location. No access was gained. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident. 

Arrest- Joshua Wallace was arrested in the area of Nunnally Forest Subdivision for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

Monday, June 4, 2018

ZONE 1

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Walnut Jersey Road and Elm Street. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to Safety Check.
Arrest in reference to Safety Check:

  • Joshua McCurdy was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and an outstanding warrant out of Covington Police Department.

Arrest- John Kendrick was arrested in the area of Monroe Jersey Road and Dean Hill Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Ahikam Griffin was arrested in the area of Highway 78 and Michael Road for Possession of Marijuana following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Illegal Dumping- Deputies took a report at a residence on Old Highway 138 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual dumped debris on their property.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Atha Woods Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking several items out of their UNLOCKED vehicle sometime between 8:00am on June 3rd and 3:00pm on June 4th.

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to a residence on Cambridge Drive in reference to complainant reporting they saw an unknown individual in a tan hat at on their porch and then fled the scene on foot. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

Arrest- Joe Barnes III was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue and Leone Avenue for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, Obstruction, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Prescription Drugs Not in Original Container, and an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.
