WCSO Alerts: Slew of unlocked vehicles illegally entered

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Crime Awareness Alerts for the period Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 to Monday, Feb. 26, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 26, 2018

ZONE 1

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Nunnally Farm Road in reference to a complainant reporting an unknown individual was outside their residence around 4:50am. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

ZONE 3

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Pannell Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown male coming out of the wood line behind their neighbor’s residence. Complainant also reported to have found a four-wheeler belonging to their neighbor near the complainant’s residence, but their neighbor did not put it there. Deputies thoroughly checked the area for the unknown male, but had no contact. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Division investigating the incident.

ZONE 4

Arrest- Christopher Segars was arrested at a residence on Jack Glass Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant and an outstanding Battery warrant out of Walton County.

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Jack Glass Road in reference to complainant reporting three unknown vehicles at their residence around 9:50pm. Vehicles were gone prior to deputy’s arrival. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicles. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident. 

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Daniel Cemetery Road in reference to complainant reporting they heard unknown individuals outside their residence around 11:00pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Kevin Vickers was arrested in the area of Highway 81 for an outstanding warrant out of Spaulding County, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related Objects following deputies responding to help him get his keys out of his locked vehicle.

ZONE 6

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Yorkshire Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual cashed a fraudulent check out of their account.

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Memory Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from their residence sometime between the hours of 10:00pm and 9:00am. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident.

ZONE 7

Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Atha Circle in reference to complainant reporting an unknown caller contacted them and claimed to be with the Homeland Security (IRS) and advised the complainant they had to pay a fee or they would be arrested.

Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018

CITY OF MONROE

Arrest- Laci Neumann was arrested in the area of Pine Park Street and Church Street for Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

ZONE 1

Entering Auto- Deputies took reports at several residences in the area of McKayla Court and Red Oak Bend in reference to and unknown individual entering *EIGHT UNLOCKED VEHICLES*, but only one complainant report items missing. Incidents occurred sometime between 9:00pm Saturday, February 24 and 7:00am Sunday, February 25.

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at a residence on Snook Thompson Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered their *UNLOCKED VEHICLE* and took several items sometime between 1:00am and 11:00am on Sunday, February 25.

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Old 81 Spur in reference to a complaint of an unknown silver in color Toyota passenger vehicle partially parked in the roadway. Deputies made contact with the vehicle and observed severe damage, but no driver was on location. Deputies attempted to make contact with the vehicle owner, but were unsuccessful. It was later found the vehicle had been stolen out of Newton County.

Arrest- One juvenile was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and Forrester Cemetery Road for an outstanding warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop.

ZONE 3

Arrest- James Brooks II was arrested in the area of Nunnally Shoals Road and Highway 83 for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Social Circle Police Department and Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Mount Vernon Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from their residence around 11:25am. A neighbor witnessed an unknown male in a black in color Ford Expedition passenger vehicle at the residence.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Charles Belt was arrested at a residence on Piney Grove Road for Criminal Trespass and Peeping Tom following being found on location without permission.
