The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Thursday, June 11, 2020 to Sunday, June 14, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Thursday, June 11, 2020
Scam- Deputies took a report at a residence on Appalachee Ridge Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual contacted the complainant via telephone claiming to be with a company named ZOHO Corporation. The complainant reported the individual advised they were calling in reference to protection service on the complainant’s computer. The complainant reported the unknown individual attempted to obtain money from the complainant and access to their computer.
Recovered Vehicle- Deputies responded to CoParts in the area of Highway 20 in reference to a possible stolen Volkswagen Passat on location. Deputies ran the vehicle information and the vehicle was reported stolen out of Union City Police Department. Union City Police Department was notified and the vehicle was taken into custody.
Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Pecan Plantation Court in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from behind the complainant’s residence.

Arrest- A 44-year-old Monroe resident was arrested at a residence on Tom Odum Road for Battery following a dispute.
Citation- One individual was cited in the area of Grady Smith Road for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While License Suspended following a single vehicle accident.
Soliciting- Deputies responded to the area of Greenridge Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual was at the complainant’s residence around 8:30 pm. Deputies made contact with the individual who was soliciting educational items and had a valid permit, but was operating outside the permit hours of 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at a residence on Bermuda Court in reference to complainant reporting they located what appeared to be bullet holes in the side of their residence that appeared sometime between 8:15 pm June 11th and 2 pm June 12th. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident.
Theft- Deputies responded to TJ Custom Muffler in the area of Centerhill Church Road in reference to a complainant reporting an individual was stealing items from the business around 9 pm. Suspect was identified and Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have an ongoing investigation in reference to the incident.
Arrest- A 29-year-old Monroe resident was arrested in the area of Highway 138 and HD Atha Road for Driving Under the Influence following a traffic stop.

Arrest- A 25-year-old Suwanee resident was arrested in the area of Highway 81 and Tara Boulevard for Felony Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Maintain Lane following a traffic stop.

Arrest- A 28-year-old Winder resident was arrested at a residence on Clarence Odum Road for an outstanding Battery warrant out of Walton County
