WCSO Alerts: Stolen vehicle, recovered vehicle, and reports of entering autos

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Awareness Community Alerts for the period Wednesday, June 3 to Sunday, June 7, 2020. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

ZONE 4

Theft- Deputies took a report in the area of Highway 11 and Emmett Doster Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual made forced entry into a storage container and took numerous items from location sometime between 5:30 pm June 2nd and 6:20 am June 3rd. Extra patrol requested in reference to the incident.

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Summerset Place in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual was ringing the complainant’s doorbell numerous times and running away around 12:00 am. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact with anyone.

ZONE 3

Damage to Property- Deputies took a report at numerous residences in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Jacks Creek Road in reference to an unknown individual damaging 14 mailboxes in the area sometime overnight.

Arrest- A 22-year-old Monroe resident was arrested in the area of Popular Oaks Trail and Poplar Street for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County following a traffic stop.

ZONE 5

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Woodland Hills Subdivision in reference to a complaint of an unknown individual in a while in color GMC passenger vehicle riding slowly through the subdivision acting suspicious.

Stolen Vehicle- Deputies took a report at a residence on North Cross Lane in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual stealing the complainant’s white in color Nissan Sentra sometimes between June 1st and June 4th. The vehicle was placed on the National Database as stolen. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.

Firearms Complainant- Deputies responded to the area of Highway 81 and Double Springs Road in reference to a complaint of an unknown individual discharging what sounded like a firearm in the area around 11:00 pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact.

ZONE 4Damage to Property- Deputies responded to the area of Gratis Road and John Stowe Road in reference to a report of an unknown individual spray-painting a stop sign in the area.

ZONE 6

Entering Auto- Deputies took a report at West Walton Auto in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual entered the complainant’s vehicle and took items sometime between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Saturday, June 6, 2020

ZONE 3

Arrest- A 21-year-old Stockbridge resident was arrested in the area of Highway 78 near LKQ for Possession of Methamphetamine and Speeding following a traffic stop. Numerous possible stolen items recovered from the vehicle. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

ZONE 6

Recovered Vehicle- Deputies took a report at Coparts in the area of Highway 20 in reference to a possible stolen vehicle being on location. Deputies ran a Lincoln MKZ through the dispatch system and the vehicle was reported stolen out of DeKalb County.

ZONE 5

Firearms Complainant- Deputies responded to the area of Lee Peters Road in reference to a complaint of a firearm being discharged in the area around 3:00 pm. Deputies made contact with the resident and they were shooting in a safe manner.

Prowler- Deputies responded to the area of Cedar Bluff Road in reference to a complaint of an unknown individual attempting to take items off the complainant’s front porch, but he fled the area after being confronted by the homeowner around 11:30 pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area but had no contact with anyone.

ZONE 6

Arrest- A 21-year-old Monroe woman was arrested in the area of Highway 20 and Centerville Rosebud Road for Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Following Too Closely following a traffic stop
