The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts between Friday, May 11, 2018 and Monday, May 14, 2018. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Friday, May 11, 2018

ZONE 3

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Pannell Road and Social Circle Fairplay Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

ZONE 4

Stolen Vehicle- Deputies took a report at a residence on Elizabeth Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual stole her white Cadillac Deville sometime between 7:30am Friday, May 4 and 4:00pm Friday, May 11. Vehicle was placed on the National Database as stolen.

ZONE 5

Fraud- Deputies took a report at a residence on Highland Pointe Place in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual used complainant’s bank information to withdrawal money.

ZONE 7

Burglary- Deputies took a report at JMB Landscaping on Highway 81 in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual took several items from the business and a white Chevrolet Silverado sometime between 9:00pm May 10th and 7:00am May 11th. Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigating the incident.

ZONE 1

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Youth Jersey Road and Maughon Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 138 near Woodlake Baptist Church. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in Reference to Safety Check:

  • Michael Richardson was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Ecstasy, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Contraband Across Guard lines.
  • Travis English was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County.

ZONE 4

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Mount Vernon Road near the creek. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

ZONE 5

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to the area of Troy Smith Road and Grapevine Trail in reference to an unknown male panhandling for money in the area. Deputies made contact with the individual and he was given a written warning for loitering and was advised the leave the area.

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Highlands Boulevard and Wedgewood Drive in reference to an unknown trailer left on location unattended. Deputies made contact with the owner and the situation was mediated.

Arrest- Abraham Rangel was arrested in the area of Highway 11 near the Allstar Gas Station for Driving Under the Influence, Open Container, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving While Unlicensed following a traffic stop.

Arrest- Monica Carr and Manuel Ambriz were arrested in the area of Highway 11 near Alton Green Road following a traffic stop.

  • Monica Carr was arrested for Giving False Name, an outstanding warrant out of Duluth Police Department, and an outstanding warrant out of Gwinnett Police Department.
  • Manuel Ambriz was arrested for Possession of a Firearm During the Commission and a Crime, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, and Obstruction.

ZONE 7

Arrest- Stephen Bland was arrested in the area of Emmett Still Road for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Maintain Lane following a single vehicle accident with no injuries.
Sunday, May 13, 2018

ZONE 1

Arrest- Elijah Simmons was arrested in the area of Walnut Avenue for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects following a traffic stop.

Burglary- Deputies took a report at a residence on Pine View Road in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual made forced entry into their residence and took several items sometime between 4:00pm May 10th and 4:00pm May 12th.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 81 and Jersey Walnut Grove Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Arrests and Citation in Reference to Safety Check:

  • One motorist was cited for Driving While License Suspended
  • Rocky Delee was arrested for Giving False Name to Officer, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Methamphetamine, and an outstanding warrant out of Jasper County.
  • Taylor Britt was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County.

ZONE 3

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 83. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

ZONE 5

Arrest- Shaun Crowe was arrested at a residence on Roscoe Davis Road for an outstanding Child Abandonment warrant out of Walton County.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Piney Grove Road and Summit Court. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations in reference to this Safety Check.
Arrest in Reference to Safety Check:

  • Michael Bean was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, No Proof of Insurance, and Driving While Unlicensed.

ZONE 6

Arrest- Devond Holmes was arrested in the area of Highway 20 and Pointer Road for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a traffic stop.

ZONE 7

Abandoned Vehicle- Deputies responded to a residence on Cambridge Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual left a Nissan passenger vehicle in the complainant’s driveway and they were unsure whole it belonged to. Deputies attempted to make contact with vehicle owner, but were unsuccessful. Vehicle was towed from location and placed on the National Database as abandoned.

Monday, May 14, 2018

ZONE 1

Arrest- Tamiah Norman and Shanravious Wynn were arrested in the area of Highway 138 near AAA Trucks following a traffic stop.

  • Tamiah Norman was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Failure to Dim Headlights.
  • Shanravious Wynn was arrested for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Walton County.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Alcovy Station Road and Jersey Covington Road. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrest or citations in reference to this Safety Check.

ZONE 3

Suspicious Vehicle- Deputies responded to the area of Whitney Way in reference to a complaint of an unknown white passenger vehicle parked in the cul-de-sac around 12:00pm. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone.

Arrest- Howard Malcom was arrested in the area of Gene Bell Road and Vaso Adcock Road for Driving Under the Influence and a Headlight Violation following a traffic stop.

ZONE 4

Suspicious Persons- Deputies responded to the area of Waverly Way in reference to complainant reporting three unknown males going through items outside their residence around 2:00pm and leaving toward the wood line. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact.

ZONE 6

Theft- Deputies took a report at a residence on Ansley Forest Drive in reference to complainant reporting an unknown individual taking several items from outside the residence and leaving in a gold passenger vehicle around 8:30pm May 13thExtra patrol requested in reference to the incident.

ZONE 7

Arrest- William Childs was arrested by Rockdale County Deputies for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County following a traffic stop in their jurisdiction. Rockdale deputies transported William Childs to the county line where he was turned over to Walton County Deputies.
