The National Weather Service has issued a high fire danger for the local area this afternoon until 6 p.m.. This includes Walton and Gwinnett counties.
According to the alert, relative humidities of 25 percent or less can be expected for 4 or more hours Saturday afternoon, March 4, 2017. While winds will be less than 15 mph from the east, the low relative humidities combined with dry fuels make for high fire conditions.
Anybody wishing to do any outdoor burning is urged to use extreme caution.
