From freeze to fire, the weather is unpredictable today, March 15, 2018. The freeze warning and watches have now expired, but have been replaced with a Special Weather Statement warning of high fire danger this afternoon and evening for central and most of north Georgia, including Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties.
According to the National Weather Service, relative humidifies of 25 percent or less can be expected this afternoon and into the evening with winds from the west at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 or 25. It is possible that Red Flag conditions may even be met, but even if not high fire danger conditions are expected. Outside burning is not recommended.
