Weather Alert Update: Special Weather Statement upgraded to Dense Fog Advisory

The National Weather Service at Peachtree City has upgraded the Special Weather Statement to issue a Dense Fog Advisory until 11 a.m. this morning.

TURN ON LOW-BEAMS, AND DRIVE SLOWLY AND WITH CAUTION. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… IF DRIVING, SLOW DOWN, USE YOUR LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS, AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU

The National Weather Service at Peachtree City has issued a Special Weather Statement for portions of north and central Georgia, including the Atlanta Metro area and Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties, for patchy dense fog overnight and into the morning hours of Monday, Feb. 17, 2020.

VISIBILITIES COULD BE REDUCED TO A QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES IN THIS REGION. SHOULD THE DENSE FOG BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD, A DENSE FOG ADVISORY WILL BE REQUIRED. IF YOU ENCOUNTER REDUCED VISIBILITIES WHILE DRIVING, SLOW DOWN, INCREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF YOU, AND USE YOUR LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS. FOG IS EXPECTED TO CLEAR DURING THE LATE MORNING HOURS.
