Weather Alert: Walton County under Tornado Watch / significant weather advisory

The National Weather Service has several counties in Georgia under a Tornado Watch until 8 p.m. tonight, March 3, 2019. This includes Walton, Gwinnett and the surrounding Counties.

The local area, including Walton Gwinnett and surrounding counties, is under a Significant Weather Advisory until 2 p.m.

HAZARD…40 MPH WIND AND HEAVY RAIN. IMPACT…EXPECT MINOR DAMAGE TO TREE LIMBS AND BLOWING AROUND OF LIGHT…UNSECURED OBJECTS. HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE TEMPORARY STREET FLOODING ESPECIALLY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. SOME LOCATIONS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS INCLUDE ATLANTA, MARIETTA, GAINESVILLE, LAWRENCEVILLE, DECATUR, CONYERS, WINDER, MONROE, JEFFERSON, COMMERCE, CUMMING, WATKINSVILLE, ATHENS, SANDY SPRINGS, ROSWELL, JOHNS CREEK, ALPHARETTA, SMYRNA, DUNWOODY AND MILTON.
