The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Monday, April 16, 2018, for north and central Georgia, including Walton and surrounding counties. The Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. this evening. Winds of 15 – 22 mph, gusting to 25-35 mph, are expected and could briefly reach 40 mph in higher elevations. Peaks are expected from noon until 8 p.m. in the evening.
These winds could break tree branches and bring down weaker trees, particularly those in saturated soils after the heavy rainfall. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
