WHAT: Weather permitting, contractors for Georgia Transmission Corporation will pull utility lines across all lanes on I-85 northbound and southbound between the Jimmy Carter Boulevard and the Indian Trail in Gwinnett County. The work – part of a critical electric infrastructure upgrade – will require authorities to pace traffic on I-85 for brief periods, causing motorists to drive at a significantly reduced speed so that crews may safely perform the work.

WHEN and WHERE:
Saturday, October 14, 2017 – approximately between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Sunday, October 15, 2017 – approximately between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
All lanes of southbound and northbound I-85 between the Jimmy Carter Boulevard  and the Indian Trail in Gwinnett County. Access ramps from these exits will be closed during the traffic pacing.

ADVISORY:
Local law enforcement will help pace traffic. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes.  Georgia Transmission Corporation is closely coordinating this essential work with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).  Call 511, visit 511ga.org or download the Georgia 511 app for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.  For more information on Georgia Transmission Corporation and its mission to provide reliable electric service, please visit www.gatrans.com.
