The West Walton Baseball/Softball Booster Club is having Movie Night in Loganville as a “thank you” to local families – and as a way to support the community in the form of a donation of one canned good per person to be donated to the local food bank.
Before the showing of the movie, there is a MLB Pitch, Hit & Run qualifier that is free and is open to all boys and girls from 7-14 (by July of this year). “This qualifier leads to the State round and gives each child the opportunity to perform in this contest at the MLB All-Star Game,” said Melissa Cape with the booster club.
More information can be found at www.pitchhitrun.com. Parents can also pre-register their child via this link.
“At 6 pm, our booster club will be hosting Chevy Youth Baseball test drives (with the assistance of Maxie Price) that will donate $25 per test drive to the booster club. There is NO obligation to buy a vehicle, simply take the test drive and the booster club gets credit,” Cape said. “Before and during the movie, the concession stand will be open and there are a multitude of $1 items! This makes for a very inexpensive dinner opportunity for our local families.
“The West Walton Baseball/Softball Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) organization and will be using funds this summer to build indoor batting cages outside of Meridian Community Center. This project is set to be completely funded by the Booster Club for the benefit of our community.”
The movie that will be showing is Ferdinand. West Walton Park is located at 925 Twin Lakes Road in Loganville.
