The 2019 Walton County Relay for Life is this Friday at 1 Bulldog Drive (George Walton Academy) in Monroe. Opening Ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. and there is a full line up of activities that promise a fun night in support of and in honor of those in the community who have been affected by cancer.
In the weeks leading up to this grand finale, organizations and private individuals have held events to raise money for cancer research. Click or tap on this link to find out how much money was raised and by whom or which organization. Top honors go to Team Corinth with $8075 raised so far.
Opening ceremonies are followed by the survivor and caregiver walk and then the luminaria ceremony where luminaries are displayed, each one representing a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer or support for a person still fighting the disease.
